I was checking the sprinklers that are set up to run while we're gone and this Costa's swooped right in for a bath. Unfortunately the camera's auto-focus has a mind of its own and focused beyond the bird but those wildly waving wings would have been a blur no matter what.

Not yellow, but the color is luscious. This is a succulent growing in the protected area around the pool. This same succulent was eaten to oblivion in another part of the yard so I am delighted it is thriving in this location.
